Been a while since I casted out for "best of" suggestion...looking for fave versions of HIGH TIME, any era, but particularly looking for versions that showcase Jerry really belting it out.

I seem to recall a killer version from early 80's maybe? in which he really lets loose on the "Come in when it's raining...go on out when it's gone..." line.

Love the tune when it's done well...any takers?

I personally never stray from '76 for that tune... nice mellow versions

I like the one from Richmond '85. It's on DP 21. I think they played it because it was during a November hurricane.

GC--you didn't say "live" so I would say "studio".

That 9/17/82 Fenario pointed me to is excellent. Jerry nails the lyrics AND his voice is actually in great form w/Bob complimenting quite well. Very sweet version.

Still not the one I remember with a real growl on the "come on in when it's raining....go out when it's gone..." line, but this version may be better overall. I'll check out these other suggestions, and thanks.

I don't think this is "the one" you are looking for, but it's a nice one, and a mighty show all the way around. Jerry & Bob vocals only - Brent was unmiked at this show - and Jerry musters a growl for the "go on out when it's gone" line ...

Here's a nice one too with three vocalists, from just a few nights later. this was a great tour:

It's bugging me because I think I've heard the version you want, but I can't place it.

I seem to remember that 5-3-86 has an excellent High Time (I know, 1986 sucks, but there's always a few exceptions). And then there's my favorite show 6-27-85, which you know quite well, although I dont think this version really stands out. But do check out 5-3-86.
